    MIS stands for Management Information Systems, and the course deals with variable facets of information technology utilized in the task of acquiring, storing and processing all data generated during business activities to facilitate business management and decision making. Although its history is relatively short, due to the introduction of computers in business management in the 1960s, MIS commands a position as a separate discipline in its own right, since the influence of information systems on the industries' competitiveness has grown relative to other competing elements.
